Entry No. 02 — Baby’s First Drop
We didn’t have some big production behind the first drop. The morning started with us borrowing a camera and hoping we remembered how to use it. My sister and a few of her friends agreed to model for us, a group of girls willing to spend the day wandering around Vienna while we experimented with clothes and ideas.
We didn’t really know what we were doing yet. We were just trying things. Swapping outfits on park benches, adjusting collars on the sidewalk, figuring out which pieces made each girl come alive while Vienna became the backdrop.
I remember being incredibly nervous before we started. Like maybe the whole thing wouldn’t translate outside of our heads. But once everyone showed up and the clothes started moving between people, it began to make sense.
By the end of the day we came home to an apartment completely covered in clothes, and bags. We didn’t even clean up. We just looked around for a second, exhausted, and passed out. It felt like the first real moment Studio Gestern existed outside of just the two of us.
